Project Description

The growth of FinTech as an emerging field of research, teaching and learning, industry materialization, policy-making development and regulatory innovation allows for pluralistic views and convergence of multidisciplinary perspectives. Taking into account the swift progress in the field it is important to revisit research foundations within the financial technologies landscape.

The purpose of this up-to-date research handbook on FinTech is to bring together academics, students, practitioners, regulators and policymakers and other relevant stakeholders aiming at moving beyond the prevailing boundaries around the phenomenon of FinTech by opening up to novel themes, providing at the same time fresh perspectives, innovative research and practitioner led-lenses, while connecting FinTech to extant and emerging theoretical underpinnings.

The research handbook on FinTech aspires to connect FinTech to various and often disconnected disciplines allowing for the exploration of themes, connections and integration of various research methods. We anticipate that the handbook will contain insights from established and emerging scholars and practitioners from various disciplines such as finance, innovation management, computer science, organizational studies, and legal studies. Edward Elgar Publishing will be the publisher of this handbook.

We invite academics, early career researchers, practitioners, and PhD researchers from all around the globe to submit proposals with a focus on theory development or are comparative or empirical in nature.

We are looking forward to receiving your submissions.

The editors,

Dimitrios and Patrick
